It is our pleasure to present the last KoMSO newsletter of the year. This edition offers information about upcoming conferences, news, and success stories from the German and European MSO community.

Conferences & events

 

SIAM FM21

The "SIAM Conference on Financial Mathematics and Engineering (FM21)" will take place from June 1 to 4, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Submissions are still possible until January 7, 2021. More information can be found at <https://www.siam.org/conferences/cm/conference/fm21>.

 

NMPC2021

The "7th IFAC Conference on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control 2021 (NMPC2021)" will take place from July 11 to 14, 2021 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Submissions are still possible until January 15, 2021. More information can be found at <https://www.nmpc2021.org/>.

KoMSO is currently preparing to offer training courses within the field of MSO. White paper "Mathematical Modeling of Biomedical Problems"

In December 2019 in Erlangen, KoMSO supported the challenge workshop "Mathematical Modeling of Biomedical Problems" organized by Martin Burger and Christina Surulescu. Vacancy for junior professorship at University Koblenz-Landau

The department of mathematics at the University Koblenz-Landau is advertising a junior professorship (W1 with tenure track to W2) for mathematics with a focus on stochastic / statistics. Deadline for applications is January 5, 2021. DFG extends research training group "PI3"

EU-MATHS-IN board elections

In December 2020, the executive board of EU-MATHS-IN was renewed during a virtual council meeting. We are happy to announce that KoMSO member Peter Maass will continue to serve as the point of contact for industry. More information can be found at <https://eu-maths-in.eu/executive-board/>.

 

EU-MATHS-IN is part of the "TransContinuum Initiative"

Eight European associations and projects -- among them EU-MATHS-IN -- commit to the "TransContinuum Initiative" to promote cross-domain collaboration for European research and development programmes. EU-MATHS-IN job portal

EU-MATHS-IN is hosting a mathematics jobs database for the private and public sector. The database was initially developed by the French national network AMIES but is open to everyone. More information can be found at <https://eu-maths-in.eu/the-european-math-jobs-database/>.
